Bashiri Asad is a soul singer

Ladies and gentlemen, I’d like to introduce you to thee most captivating, soul-stirring, grooviest dude to ever pick up a microphone. (Unneccessarily long pause) Please put your hands together for my friend, (softly) Bashiri Asad.

Ok, now that I’m done being silly, seriously, Bashiri Asad is, in my opinion, one of the most talented R&B/soul singers in Indianapolis. Asad’s personal versatility allows him to speak eloquently in a press interview and joke with you around a pizza and pitchers of beer.

I’ve seen Bashiri perform his original hits on stage many times, and you know what? It never gets old. Unlike many of today’s manufactured and robot-like singers, Bashiri constantly reinvents himself, because he honestly wants to provide his audience with a quality performance.

This man sings from his soul and every note, every pitch, every run, is done with purpose.

It’s been a while since I’ve seen my buddy perform so I can’t wait to see him Friday, June 4 at the Big Car Gallery, 1043 Virginia Ave. The show is from 8 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. Check him out.
