For those of you who have never been to an IMAX theatre you don’t know what you’re missing.
The IMAX theatre at the Indiana State Museum downtown always shows the best movies and documentaries. But for me, even if the doc or movie is not that interesting, it’s still cool because you’re watching it on a giant screen.
So last night while sitting in the theatre watching a doc on a man retracing the footsteps of George Mallory’s ascent up Mount Everest (Wildest Dream: Conquest of Everest opens today!), I realized “I don’t come here enough.”
Sure, I’ve walked past the museum on evening strolls along the canal or drove past on my way to an Indians game, but I don’t really make my way inside too often.
Truthfully, I’ve only been inside the actual museum only once for fun. It was a few years ago for the chocolate exhibit (which I LOVED) and there was another exhibit on the future of Indiana’s agriculture which was also pretty cool.
Their current exhibits are Footprints: Balancing Nature’s Diversity, right up my alley; Heartland Art: Selections from your Indiana Collection, two of my favorite things, art and Indiana; and In Her Honor, gets some girl power going.
And the upcoming exhibits seem even more aewsome! I knew the Indiana State Museum was the best kept secret but keeping secrets from myself is just wrong!!
It’s settled. I’m going. Oh! I should get on their mailing list or something so I won’t miss a thing!
