Pampered

No, not the diapers. Also not the fabulous kitchen gadget purveyor. Pampered is how you’ll feel after a visit to The Villa Inn – Restaurant-Spa. Yup, kind of a mouthful, but then, so are the lovely breakfast treats a group of us enjoyed this morning on a tour of the facilities.

Outdoor dining at The Villa.Often described as the “castle” on Delaware Street, the building was built in 1906 and modeled after a true castle the original owners spied on their honeymoon in Florence, Italy.

I could curl up here anytime. And you can have the experience of living like royalty when you stay in one of the luxurious suites (all with private, two-person Jacuzzi bath) enjoying in-room spa services and meals. There’s even a rooftop terrace accessible only by guests. But please don’t think you can’t enjoy all the goodies here unless you stay at the Inn.

I hope I win the lottery soon so I can come here every morning. The spa is open seven days a week. Even on Sunday you can stop by for some respite and relaxation! I had a Swedish massage here not too long ago and had to be scraped from the table. Really. It wasn’t pretty. They say it happens all the time…

This French milled soap is way too cute to use!And then there was the facial. Even with my extremely sensitive skin I was able to enjoy an hour of serenity and felt–and maybe even sort of looked–like a dewy youth when I left. Did I mention you can buy the awesome products they use on you? The facial cream I took home is still taking me back to the spa with its clean, soothing scent every night.

Gettin' your nails did and feelin' fancy! The pampering doesn’t stop there. You can also enjoy manicures, pedicures, hair services, makeup applications (and lessons), waxing (okay, does anyone really enjoy waxing?), reiki or a visit with a personal trainer.

And don’t think there’s no place for you if you lack the double X chromosome. The spa has special facials, manis and pedis designed to keep the testosterone flowing for the boys.

Now to the middle part of the name. The Restaurant. Don’t come looking for a double cheeseburger because that would defeat the purpose of all that healthy pampering, doncha know? Wine for the win!The Mediterranean spa cuisine is good and good for you. And of course wine is an important part of all meals and The Villa understands this by offering an extensive wine list. Their Work Week Wine Down ($5) each Thursday is a great opportunity to sample some of them while enjoying a chair massage. If you stay for dinner, the Wine Down is free. And if that time in the chair just whets your appetite for more, get a full spa treatment for 10% off after the Wine Down.

Now those spa treatments were tip top, but I think my absolute favorite thing at the Villa is the Friday night flight program. You can score themed flights of wine, cheese and chocolate! What more could you possibly need in life except maybe a good dog, frequent roller coaster rides, fresh sushi and a good steak? If you join their email club, you can get buy one-get one coupons and pay economy class instead of first class for those flights.
