This weekend, if you’re looking for something to do and you have a particular passion for the 4 and under set, you might want to check out the Indy Baby and Toddler Expo happening at the Indiana State Fairgrounds Saturday from 10 AM – 5 PM and Sunday from 11 AM – 5 PM. At first glance, I thought that perhaps they would be putting small children on exhibition like they were zoo animals. Of course, that assumption was completely wrong. Although, I have a two year old Youngest Princess who just might make an excellent monkey at such an exhibition. I would tend to believe that theoretically it might be highly entertaining.
Instead, you’ll have the opportunity to check out all of the newest products for your little bundle of joy. Whether he or she is still cozy in the womb or rocking the crib or even beginning to potty train, there will be all sorts of interesting vendors and exhibitors for you to check out. Plus there will also be plenty of Live Entertainment for kids of all ages AND great games and prizes, too. And if you’re lucky enough to be one of the first 50 moms in attendance on Saturday and Sunday, you can also score a coveted swag bag stuffed to the seams with great prizes, products, and goodies. I almost forgot to mention the Parents’ Lounges! In the Mommy Pampering Lounge, you can get a mani, pedi, or other luxurious spa treatment. The menfolk can kick it in the Daddy Tailgate Lounge – the ultimate man cave – with big screen tvs and video games. All while little Jr. will be well cared for by licensed child care givers. Seriously, it’s a mini-vacation.
Tickets for general admission are $7 at the door with grandparents snagging a half-price rate of $3.50 and those 5 and under are FREE. HOWEVER, if you buy your tix online today, it looks like they’re only $4! Parking is $3 so be sure to bring along some cash for that, too.
Even if you’re not attending this event, be sure to check out their great comprehensive link which details several places in the Indianapolis area where kids eat for free. Even I was impressed with the amount of work that must have gone into that post.
You can follow the Indy Baby and Toddler Expo both on Facebook and Twitter for shopping tips and schedule information.
