Welcome 2011. We think we’re going to like you here in Indianapolis. We have lots of things in store for you – Playoff Games (GO COLTS!), Men’s and Women’s Big Ten tournaments, the NCAA Women’s Final Four, the Indy 500, the Brickyard 400, and oh so much more. But since it’s the first full week of 2011, we have great ways to save money in the Circle City to discuss and dates to put on the calendar, so let’s get down to business, shall we?
I can’t believe that I’ve never talked about Community Tuesdays at White River State Park on Indy’s Queen of Free before. If you’ve always wanted to visit the Indiana State Museum, have never darkened the doors of the NCAA Hall of Champions, wish you had enough pennies to take in a flick at the IMAX, want to experience the R.B. Annis Western Family Experience at the Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art (which rocks btw) while spending less cash, or even hang at the Zoo or White River Gardens at one great low price, go ahead and mark every first Tuesday of the month on your calendar. Which by the way, the first Community Tuesday of 2011 would be TOMORROW, January 4th. Here are the discount details:
- Eiteljorg Admission is $4 for Adults and Seniors and FREE for children under 18. It’s a great way to catch Jingle Rails one last time before the trains leave the station on January 9th!
- IMAX Theater tickets are discounted by $2.
- The Indiana State Museum offers half priced admission (but it doesn’t include admission to special exhibits like Titanic).
- NCAA Hall of Champions discounts their prices by $1.
- All Indianapolis Zoo tickets are $7 (do note that the Zoo is closed in January and February on Mondays and Tuesdays except for MLK Day so this price is good March-November).
- When in Season, the Indianapolis Indians offer $2 off when you show a membership or that day’s ticket stub from one of the other White River State Park attractions.
Go ahead pull out your calendar and circle the first Tuesday of each month in red so you don’t forget to save big!
