Do You Believe in Magic?

Your friendly, neighborhood dictionary defines magic this way: the art of producing illusions as entertainment by the use of sleight of hand, deceptive devices, etc.; legerdemain; conjuring: to pull a rabbit out of a hat by magic. Also any extraordinary or mystical influence, charm, power, etc.

Take a trip without worrying about flashbacks!

If you attend one of Christian and Katalina’s Mind Tripping Shows, you will experience all that and more. Well, there were no bunnies. Or hats. But there were plenty of bears! And knives. And drawings of audience members’ private parts.

Obviously I can’t go into great detail on the sorcery I witnessed because I don’t want to spoil any surprises, but know that some pretty amazing stuff went down.

Katalina is an expert mind reader. With a background in military intelligence and as a descendant of a Hungarian mystic, she is gifted with a sixth sense–possibly also a seventh–that enables her to see things about the audience that most can’t. While Christian solicits items from the crowd, Katalina calls ‘em out. And she didn’t miss one. And it’s not just, “You have lip balm in your pocket.” It’s more like, “You have regular flavor Chapstick in your pocket which you purchased at Walgreen’s on 16th Street three days ago at 5:27 p.m. You have the receipt in your wallet and you also bought teriyaki beef jerky and Yoo-hoo.”

Audience participation is key. And no one is excluded!

Did I mention that these two are married? They have a comfortable, entertaining banter that keeps things moving swiftly from “safe” illusions to some truly freaky, make-you-uneasy experiences toward the end of the show. And you will participate. Oh yes. Getting the audience involved is part of what makes the shows. I hope they won’t mind that I tell you this next part. You get chocolate for coming up!

And that’s not all you get out of the deal. With your ticket you get free parking at the Hilton or pay $5 for valet, buy one get one meals at 120 West Market Grill and a 30-minute session with Massage Indy. How’s that for value-added?

Even if you’re skeptical of exactly how they do it, you’ll have a fun night watching the show and debating the illusions for weeks to come!

Bonus: They mentioned that they’re in the planning stages for a new show for the summer. It will focus more on the paranormal and ghosts, so it’s right up my alley and I can’t wait!
