There’s nothing like first game of the season to make you realize spring has sprung. Indianapolis’ own Indianapolis Indians opened their 2011 season just last week. When you head to the park, you want to be sure that you’re leaving with more than just peanuts in your pockets. I shared a few of my favorite tips for Indians’ games at beautiful Victory Field in 2010 (find ‘em here). But since it’s a new season, there are new promotions and ways to save.
- Monday Dollar Menu: Save big on snacks at the big game! Hot dogs, peanuts, Cracker Jacks, popcorn & potato chips will all ring up for just a $1 a piece.
- Indy Star 2-for-1 Tuesdays: Snag the Indianapolis Sunday Paper and score a coupon good for B1G1 tickets. Clip the coupon from The Indianapolis Star in the Sunday edition prior to each Tuesday home game. Then, grab a friend and go to the game for half the price.
- Thursday Value Pack: Got $15? It will score you not only a ticket, but also includes a hot dog, unlimited soda and even a souvenir.
- Friday Night Fireworks: Not every week, but many weeks out of the summer, your ticket to the game also includes a first rate fireworks show.
- ZOOper Zaturday: Giant inflatable characters like Harry Canary, Cow Ripken, and Peyton Manatee – all a part of the ZOOperstars crew – perform during Saturday games throughout the season. Prepare yourself for a zany good time.
- Souvenir Sunday: Throughout the season, the first 2,500 fans in attendance score great Indianapolis Indians gear on Souvenir Sundays.
From Girl Scout Camp Outs to Baseball in Education, Autograph sessions, Business Day Games, and more, there are tons of great one time promotions throughout the season. Each one is sure to make what might seem like “just a baseball game” a memory to treasure!
What’s your favorite way to save when you root, root, root for the home team?
