If you’re as excited as I am that spring seems to (finally) be upon us and ready to get outside to do something fun, this is the week for you! Indy has plenty of great options on tap this week that will make for the perfect date.
One of my favorite things to do on a beautiful spring night is to go see the Indianapolis Indians, our minor league baseball team. They just so happen to have five games this week. Speaking from experience, there’s nothing quite like being at Victory Field (voted America’s best minor league baseball park) on a Friday or Saturday night. There’s something about the spring air mixed with the crack of baseball bats, the fans, cold beer and ballpark snacks that makes for the perfect date. Tickets are definitely affordable, so check out some top-notch minor league baseball. I’ll write more about this in a future post.
Another outdoor activity I’d highly recommend this week is the Arcade Fire concert at The Lawn at White River State Park on Wednesday. The Lawn at White River State Park’s summer concert series has been a huge success for good reason. Not only does it attract nationally-recognized acts, but the venue alone is absolutely gorgeous. Great music and beautiful scenery? That’s definitely got the makings for a lovely date.
Finally, and perhaps most exciting, is the official opening of the biergarten at The Rathskellar this Friday night. With a great selection of world beers, German ambiance, live music and the perfect outdoor bar setting for socializing and relaxing, it’s hard to find a reason not to go. Enjoy the company of the mix of friendly regulars and biergarten rookies with your significant other — it’s almost impossible to have a bad night at the Rathskellar.
