October is finally here; the month of pumpkins, trick-or-treating and of course, Oktoberfest. Quest for the West Art Show & Sale
Eiteljorg Museum – Monday, October 3 through Sunday, October 9
This is the last week to browse the Eiteljorg Museum’s annual exhibition Quest for the West. View art from some of the best and most collected Western artists in the country. This is a perfect opportunity to discover new art and expand your personal collection. Be sure to check out the list of artists for this year’s show.

EP3 with Bad Dagger
The Mousetrap Bar & Grill – Friday, October 7
Eight Planets Past Pluto (EP3) and Bad Dagger come to the Mousetrap this Friday for a free performance. Redefining live electronic music, EP3 has toured across the country and released three albums since 2009. If you are looking for a new brand of music, this performance is one you won’t want to miss. Local band, Bad Dagger will also be playing during this one night performance.

My Gypsy Soul
Booth Tarkington Civic Theatre – Friday, October 7
Experience the color and diversity of Roma culture with Gregory Hancock Dance Studio’s performance of “My Gypsy Soul” at The Tarkington in Carmel. Following Gypsy footprints from India to Spain, this debut concert features music from all of the countries that have played a part in the making of the Roma culture and history.

Indiana Convention Center & Lucas Oil Stadium – Friday, October 7 through October 9
Come support Indianapolis’ own Naptown Roller Girls as they host this year’s North Central Regional Playoffs at the Indiana Convention Center. The ten top-ranked teams in the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association will compete in this three day competition to advance to the WTFDA Championship.

Traders Point Creamery – Saturday, October 8
It’s that time of year again; Oktoberfest is back at Traders Point Creamery. The 3 to 1 Band and PolkaBoy will entertain as you explore this year’s activities such as hayrides, games, crafts and more. Sample organic foods and shop the Farmer’s Market. You can even watch a cow being milked. No Oktoberfest is complete without beer, so be sure to stop by the Biergarten, featuring local breweries like Sun King. This annual celebration benefits the Traders Point Rural Histroic District which works to protect green space around Eagle Creek.

Athenaeum – Saturday, October 8
Celebrate German culture at the Athenaeum’s annual Germanfest! Compete in a yodeling contest, run in the 5K Lederhosen, find your favorite German beer or dish, or cheer on your favorite dachshund in the Weiner Dog Race. German memorabilia will be on display and available for sale, as well as live music from Norm Gwaltney, the Indianapolis Mannerchor and more. Bring the children along to enjoy their own activities, cultural displays and crafts.

Brew Bracket Fall Tournament
Indiana State Fairgrounds– Saturday, October 8
Come to the Indiana State Fairgrounds and choose the winner of this fall’s Brew Bracket Tournament. Sixteen breweries will go head to head in the Sweet 16, Elite 8, Final 4 and a championship round. Taste test these breweries’ top beers and decide who advances in each round to become the Brew Bracket Champion.
