Visiting the Super Bowl City with Kids

The Dinos at the Children's Museum of Indianapolis Are Geared up for Super Bowl XLVI! Check out more pics on the Children's Museum's Facebook Page.

If you’re bringing your little people along to Super Bowl XLVI, you really couldn’t have asked for a better city to visit. Indianapolis is a dream destination for families with kids. And if you’ve never been here before, here are my top three picks for fun with 12 and under set {or merely the young at heart}.

1) The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis. This museum is one of the largest children’s museum in the world and named the best by many. If you visit, you’re certain to agree. Kids ages 0-99 will enjoy the interactive exhibits and forget that they’re actually learning because they’re having so much fun! Don’t miss the Carousel Wishes and Dreams on the 4th floor, the National Geographic Treasures of the Earth on the bottom floor {perfect for your little Indiana Jones}, and the special Mr. Potato Head traveling exhibit only in the museum for a limited time. Lucky for you, this Thursday night, February 2nd is Target Family night, meaning that admission is FREE from 4-8 PM. Check out more of my favorite ways to save money when visiting the Children’s Museum of Indianapolis.

2) Just blocks from Lucas Oil Stadium stands the Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art. I know what you’re thinking, not exactly a kid friendly destination, right? WRONG. I absolutely love the R.B. Annis Western Family Experience. Sit in a real stage coach, build a totem pole that represents your family, and see what life was like in the Old West. You might love it just as much your kids do!

3) NFL Experience located near the Super Bowl Village. We had the joy of checking out the NFL Experience this past weekend and it did not disappoint. From interactive games to displays of your favorite players’ gear, there’s SO much to take in and enjoy. Be sure you wander all the way back to the Rush Zone to check out smaller scale games for the littler kids {and from our experience shorter lines, too}. And don’t miss the numerous photo ops or a chance to steal a glance at the trophy up for grabs this weekend!

In and around the city, there are MANY other great places to visit with your children. I wish I could list them all but these are certainly three of my favorites for this weekend.

I love that the Dinos caught Superbowl Spirit!!

My suggestion is to check out some of the Super Celebration sites- a lot of locales are doing family-friendly activities this weekend!
