Are you looking to brunch locally in Indy? Check out this guide.
Café Patachou – For those of you visiting Indy and staying downtown, Café Patachou is a great choice for brunch. Centrally located, Patachou offers great selection. I highly recommend their Cuban breakfast, thick-cut cinnamon sugar toast and broken yoke sandwiches. There are healthy options for those interested as well as an array of coffees to choose from. Lastly, this is a mimosa-friendly environment. Cheers to that.
City Café- Looking for a local experience? This quaint spot located north of Monument Circle on Pennsylvania is a favorite among locals. Locally-sourced breakfast meats, homemade biscuits and a pancake flight make City Café a perfect choice. Did I mention the local meat? Try the Smoking Goose bacon (trust me). **Not open on Sundays
SoBro Café- SoBro Café, another smaller shop, is a great place for brunch. SoBro’s made from scratch dishes are delicious. If you are looking for vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options, SoBro is highly recommended.
Zest!- Zest has one of those menus that make it hard to choose. Last time, I had to debate between a goat cheese, organic greens and mushroom egg scramble, amazing double sausage gravy and a crab bennie. This spot also boasts a great adult beverage selection for the a.m. and a unique interior where you can leave your mark on the walls. You will see what I am talking about.
Good Morning Mama’s- Good Morning Mama’s is sure to lift your spirits even on a cloudy day. The bright and playful interior lends itself to a pleasant brunch. Mama’s also has one of my favorite menus that encompasses all things brunch. Not to mention, this is home to my favorite pancake. In the summer, check out their patio. It is truly vibrant and beautiful.
Three Sisters Café-Eating at Three Sisters Café is an experience. Once there, be sure to put your name on this list as there will likely be a wait. But a wait that is well worth it. Located in an old house, this brunch spot serves homemade comfort food and uses fresh ingredients. They are known for their lemon corncakes with seasonal berries and house made maple vanilla granola. Overall, the food is great and the interior is memorable.
