Jingle Rails at the Eiteljorg {for Less Jingle}

Oh my, Money Saving Lords and Ladies, the holiday season is rushing toward us at mach speed.  And that means many wonderful holiday traditions that our fair city celebrates every year are already underway {or just about to begin}.  Fa La La SQUEE!

One of the newest festive additions to Indianapolis is the Eiteljorg Museum‘s Jingle Rails exhibit.  If you have a train enthusiast of any age in your domain, you’ll definitely want to mark this one on your calendar.  And quite honestly it’s pretty awesome to behold even if you aren’t all down with Thomas and whatnot.  Don’t believe me, eh?  Take a few minutes to watch this video and marvel in its awesomeness.

November 5th – January 8th, you can spend some time choo-choo-choosing to seeing one of the most unique holiday exhibits in town.  But of course, you know I wouldn’t suggest visiting anywhere without a coupon.  What kind of frugalista would I be?  You can save $2 off General Admission with this great coupon!

Random side rant note: I LOVE the Eiteljorg and truly believe its R.D. Annis Family Experience is one of Indianapolis’ best kept secrets for the five foot and under crowd.  Both the Eldest and Youngest Princesses adore spending time there.  I’d be lying if I said I didn’t find it fascinating, too.  PLUS, if you have extra pennies in your “Dining Out” Budget, the Sky City Cafe is one of my favorite restaurants in Indianapolis.

We love to give experiences rather than toys to our girls.  And the Eiteljorg’s Jingle Rails is a gift well worth giving.  I can’t wait to see their faces watching the amazing trains this holiday season.

What’s your favorite Indianapolis Holiday Tradition?  How do you save when you experience it?

    Great post, and a very hidden gem here downtown. The fiance and I love the Eitejorg and make a date out of going there, and then across the way to the IMAX theater! It truly is one of the neatest places in the city. Thanks for sharing and hope so many readers get to Jingle Rails to kick off their Holiday Spirit.

    Cool! I have always been a sucker for model trains (railroads are a family tradition). You’ll see me there, probably with a sullen teenager or two.
