Great Places in Indianapolis to Eat with Kids!

Hello there, families visiting from out of town! We are so glad you are here for the Super Bowl. If I could, I would dress up like Lumiere, sing a few bars of “Be Our Guest” and have each and every one of you over for dinner. But since I can’t do that {and even if I did, I would probably get carted off and go broke}, I’ll do the next best thing. I’ll list some of my favorite places to eat in Indianapolis. And since I constantly roll with little people in tow, each of these establishments welcomes and even caters to the 5 foot and under crowd.

1} Best Place to Get Pizza: This was certainly a tie for me. I have two favorites in the downtown area. Thr3e Wise Men Brewing – affordable and gourmet. Build a pizza of your choosing AND be sure to save room for an Elephant Ear {only $3}. Printable menus can be found here if you want to drool before you go. For SUPER deals and entertainment going on this weekend, check here. With 3 locations {Broad Ripple, Downtown, and Carmel} Bazbeaux’s Pizza is another great place to snag a pie! My personal fav is the Pizza Alla Quattro Formaggio. My mouth is watering just by typing it. Romano, cheddar, ricotta, mozzarella, provolone, bacon and mushroom on your choice of white or wheat crust. This Saturday, Belle from Beauty in the Beast will be at the Broad Ripple location posing for pictures and giving gifts to the kids as a part of the Broad Ripple Super Fest.

2} Best Place to Grab a Burger: This one is easy – hands down, Scotty’s Brewhouse downtown Indianapolis. With a wide menu {Kids, Low Cal, Gluten Free, you name it!} and amazing sauces, there’s certainly something for everyone. Plus, Kids Eat Free on Tuesdays and Sundays. My favs: The signature Fried Dill Chips and the mo ‘fo’ cluck lite. But I hear you MUST try Shewman’s Special {PB and Jalepenos, ftw!}.

3} Best Sweet Treat: The Flying Cupcake Bakery is our favorite place to snag dessert or a midafternoon snack. They have 2 locations, one in Broad Ripple and one downtown, and dozens of flavors! Our personal favorites are the signature Red Velvet Elvis, Gimme S’more, It’s Not a Ho Ho, Cookies and Cream, and Here Comes the Bride. Obviously, we’ve been a few times. They also offer Gluten Free and Vegan options! Be sure to choose your own special pick to put on top of your cupcake.

4} Best Salads and Sandwiches: Again, I have two favorites. Seriously, it’s just so hard to choose in Indy. Just a short walk from the Super Bowl Village, you’ll find the Creation Cafe at the end of the Canal Walk. I love that they feature local fare and have great options for kids at breakfast, lunch, and dinner! For Breakfast, definitely go for the B.E.L.T. For lunch or dinner, I LOVE the Hoity Toity Mother Clucker. The Sky City Cafe also has great soups, salads, and sandwiches. The Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art houses a phenomenal cafe with a killer menu. After the kids have played, be sure to head up stairs for a meal. Build your own sandwich or choose one of the specialty selections with a unique southwestern flair. I’m not joking when I say, you MUST order cornbread. Just promise me, ok?

Enjoy all the yumminess that Indianapolis has to offer!
