With initiatives like Small Business Saturday and Giving Tuesday, holiday shopping is becoming more about gifts that give back in a variety of ways.
Yelp says the concept doesn’t have to stop there. On Thursday, December 13 from 6pm to 10pm, Yelp’s Totally Bazaar will be open with local food, drink and retail vendors who will set up shop at the City Market to give you the ultimate 21+ holiday shopping experience. And do you know the best part? Entrance to this event is FREE.
Over 16 amazing restaurants and chefs, such as Smoking Goose, Circle City Soups, and Just Pop In will be present with regular menu items for purchase and possibly some samples! Sun King Brewing Company, Hoosier Momma Bloody Marys, New Day Meadery and Mass Ave Wine Shop will provide the suds to wash it all down. Walk upstairs to find Tomlinson Tap Room open with pints of Indiana craft beer
With over 65 Indy-only retail vendors, Yelp’s Totally Bazaar has something for everyone, big or small. Bobaloo! has great toys, clothing and accessories for little ones while Opposite of Far designs animal and superhero masks that can be worn by a child or an adult. People for Urban Progress will have products made from the roof of the former Hoosier Dome along with Indianapolis-related t-shirts.
Even my favorite Indianapolis sports team, the Naptown Roller Girls, will be there with season tickets for sale and information about their 7th season which starts December 28th. If you’ve never been to a roller derby bout, I highly suggest seeing one of their home bouts this year at the Indiana State Fairgrounds and the Indiana Convention Center.
This year, Yelp’s Totally Bazaar has expanded to the west wing with a holiday fashion lounge from Pattern Indy and CoatChex from Shark Tank! There will aslo be plenty of vendors in the southwest plaza for an “old world market” vibe, where you’ll find roasted nuts, mulled wine from Easley Winery, ciders from New Day Meadery, a gift wrapping station, international holiday music by Cultural Cannibals and international gifts from Global Gifts and the Slovenian, Greek and Swiss local organizations.
All of that eating, drinking and shopping means you’ll be looking for a place to rest. Consider snagging up one of the Hoosier Holiday deals from Visit Indy where you’ll find offers of 50% hotel rooms for Indiana residents. Happy shopping!
