Twinkling in the wintry night air, the bright lights of the holidays are once again with us in the Circle City. I’m a firm believer that Indy is one of the most beautifully adorned cities during the month of December. From tall buildings trimmed with glowing orbs to interactive displays of character fun, both young and old will LOVE the opportunity to take in the sites. Here’s a round up of some of the best places in Indy to see Christmas lights again this year.
Monument Circle. Of course the Circle of Lights tops the list of this round up. A trip to Indy during the holiday season just wouldn’t be complete without the view of the 242-foot display of dazzling beauty. Close to 5000 lights sparkle with Christmas cheer. See the giant toy soldiers and peppermint sticks. Mail your letter to Santa before December 12th. Take a carriage ride and snuggle under a blanket.
Christmas at the Zoo. The Indianapolis Zoo is already glowing with holiday fun. Instead of closing for the season, the Zoo annually holds a seasonal light display for the community to enjoy. For details on days, hours, and of course ways to save, check out the Indianapolis Zoo’s Christmas the Zoo information page.
Reynolds Farm Equipment. Just a wee bit north of downtown Indy, find a 21 year tradition of Christmas light awesome. The automated, larger than life displays are available FREE of charge. Plus, you can donate canned goods and loose change to make a difference in the community. All of the details can be found here.
Broad Ripple Lights Up. See lights in physical motion at the special Twilight Parade December 14th in Broad Ripple. Storytelling, crafts, cookies, and more will be a part of the evening’s events. Check out the schedule here.
What destinations should I add to my “can’t miss” Christmas light tour this year?
