Spring Break Ideas for Your Tween in Indy

Win tickets to see Demi Lovato's Neon Lights Tour at Banker's Life Fieldhouse on March 30th

Made your Spring Break plans yet? Indianapolis has so many fantastic affordable options for families. As a parent of a middle schooler, I’m always on the prowl for fun experiences that are perfect for my almost, but-not-quite-yet grown up kid. Her interests are varied and there’s a lot that she can physically do that my kindergartner can’t. Here’s a round up of some of our family’s favorite Indy tween destinations. Plus, read all the way to the end for a ticket giveaway certain to make your tween let out a little scream.

White River State Park. No matter what your child is into – from animals to sports to history to art, you’re certain to find something exciting to explore at White River State Park. From the amazing world of butterflies at the Indianapolis Zoo (they just returned on March 21st) to checking out the Pioneers of Indiana Basketball at the NCAA Hall of Champions, your tween might learn a little something while they have fun. Be sure to check out all of the great coupons on Visit Indy for both of these destinations as well as the Indiana State Museum and the Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art. If you plan to stay overnight there are amazing hotels within walking distance of the park and great Getaway Packages that bundle a hotel stay with your tickets. Plan to visit at another time this year? Then the Park Pass is your best savings bet. You’ll receive 6 one time admission vouchers to each of the attractions for 25 percent off of the face value price. Also included are coupons for good for discounts on Segway Tours, Wheel Fun Rentals (unique bicycles and boats that our family LOVES), and the Eugene and Marilyn Glick Indiana History Center.

Rhythm! Discovery Center. Moment of honesty: both tweens and their parents *may* have a wee bit of angst to work out from time to time. I can’t think of a better way to rid yourself of said tension than wailing on the drums. Tweens are certain to love this interactive play land of all things percussion. Again, Visit Indy offers some great coupons for this fun attraction.

Go Ape Treetop Adventure. Want to have a high flying adventure this spring break? Check out Go Ape Treetop Adventure. Rope ladders, trapezes, zip lines, and more will convince your tween that you are the coolest parent ever. Plus, you can save money with the coupon on Visit Indy cementing that top parenting award.

Want to kick Spring Break off rock ‘n roll style? We’re giving away 2 tickets to Demi Lovato’s Neon Lights Tour on Sunday March 30th at Banker’s Life Fieldhouse! Use the Rafflecopter below for your chance to win. As with all give aways, be sure you can actually attend before you enter and check your e-mail (including SPAM folders, just in case) on Wednesday March 26th to see if you’ve won. There’s so many fun things to do in Indy with Tweens. We’ve had several tween already and are very budget conscious so we seek out a variety of low-cost options. We love to walk the canal, browse the malls, visit the Indy parks. The parks also have a variety of programs throughout the year that the kids love to participate in. We’ll find an outdoor basketball court, running track, tennis courts, etc and have a blast.
